Shelly Lares, known as “Little Miss Dynamite,” has been a powerhouse in Tejano music for over four decades.
Inducted into the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame in her 25th year, she is a celebrated musician, songwriter, producer, and activist.
With numerous industry awards, including Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year, her career includes 25 studio albums and three Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations, including Best Mexican American Album.
Dubbed the “Queen of Collabs,” she has bridged Tejano with other genres through countless duets.
Lares has toured extensively across the U.S., Mexico, Korea, and Japan.
After 40 years, she retired from touring to focus on her record label, SHELLSHOCK RECORDS 3, and mentoring emerging artists.
In 2023, she became the University of Texas at San Antonio’s first Artist in Residence, teaching music industry fundamentals, voice, production, and songwriting.
Offstage, Shelly brings comfort to patients and families through visits to Harmony Hospice Care of San Antonio, where her songs offer solace.
Shelly continues to inspire and uplift others, proving that true dynamite never stops sparking new fires.
