
Roxana V. Vargas
Civic Leadership
Roxana V. Vargas, a retired Chief Financial Officer for the Secretary of the Air Force’s Acquisition Training Office, is a recipient of the Distinguished Air Force Civilian Service Medal.
With 31 years of experience in finance, economic analysis, education, industrial operations, and newswriting, she has made significant contributions to public service.
A lifelong advocate for education and mentorship, Roxana has supported scholarships for women and at-risk students.
Her civic involvement includes roles as a Bexar County elections judge, homeowners association board president, founding president of a women’s leadership network, and Department of Labor apprenticeship recruiter.
She currently serves as District 7 commissioner on the City of San Antonio Ethics Review Board.
Active in her church, Roxana is a lector and eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, where she chairs communications for the Military Family Ministry and serves as the Spiritual Advisor for the local St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.
She holds a BA in English Communications from St. Mary’s University and an MA in Administration in Finance from the University of the Incarnate Word.
