Monica Kapur

Dr. Monika Kapur is the President and CEO of University Medicine Associates (UMA), the multispecialty physician group of UT Health San Antonio.
She joined UMA in 2005 as a Family Medicine Physician after completing her residency at UT Health San Antonio.
While maintaining a busy Primary Care Practice, she earned an MBA in Healthcare from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2012 and now oversees over 300 clinicians providing care at University Hospital and 25 ambulatory clinics, driving strategic expansion for the system.
Dr. Kapur has received several accolades, including the 2017 Women in Medicine Leadership Award from the Bexar County Medical Society and the 2024 Health Care Heroes Award from the San Antonio Business Journal.
She was also honored with the Dianna Burns Community Service Award.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Kapur completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Andrew Weil Center.
She serves on the boards of Family Service and the American Heart Association’s local chapter.
Outside of work, Monika enjoys reading and traveling with her husband, two daughters, and their dog.
