
Marcie Tallman Ince
Volunteerism
Marcie, a former teacher with expertise in English and Education, taught at Fairview High School and summers at the United Mexican American Students Program at the University of Colorado in Boulder before relocating to San Antonio.
After moving, she left teaching at Roosevelt High School to care for her medically-complicated child.
During her homebound years, Marcie embraced volunteer work, serving on various boards, and significantly contributing to the community.
She served as President of the Conservation Society of San Antonio; Library Board Trustee, District 9; President of the San Antonio Parks Foundation “Friends of the Parks”; Chairperson of the Japanese Tea Garden; and Ambassador sponsor of the Military-Civilian Club.
Additionally, she served several years on the Fiesta Commission Executive Committee and many other non-profit organizations in San Antonio.
Marcie is not only a leader but also a founder, co-founding the Hays Street Bridge Restoration Group and the Conservation Society’s “Capital Club,” which raised over $1 million for historic preservation and spearheaded opposition to digital billboards.
Her dedication has earned her awards and recognition from organizations such as the Parks Foundation, Conservation Society, and San Antonio Library.
She expresses deep gratitude for her family’s support, enabling her to pursue her passion for enhancing the quality of life for San Antonio residents.
