Dr. Kelly Nash, Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Professor of Physics at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), is a pioneering force in higher education with over 15 years of experience.

She was the first doctoral graduate of the UTSA Physics program, becoming one of fewer than 100 African-American women with a Ph.D. in Physics at the time.

Her groundbreaking research and leadership in higher education make her a role model in the STEM community.

Passionate about nurturing women leaders in STEM fields, she champions diversity and educational opportunities for students.

She mentors undergraduate women in STEM, training them in negotiation skills to empower their career trajectories.

Recognized with prestigious awards, including the UTSA President’s Distinguished Diversity Award, she is celebrated for her research, leadership, and community engagement.

Actively involved in professional organizations, she currently serves as President of the Alpha Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Dr. Nash is named one of “1,000 inspiring Black scientists in America” by Cell Mentor, her impact resonating nationwide.
