Civic Leadership
Sylvia Rodriguez served as Executive Director of the Valero Foundation for 12 years and retired in November 2020 after 28 years.
Sylvia provided guidance for Valero’s charitable investment decisions locally as well as the company’s operations throughout the U.S., Quebec, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Throughout her life, Sylvia has volunteered for various causes – many in support of educational and professional development programs for women.
She also serves on the boards of the local Women’s Chamber, the Parks Foundation and the local & international chapters of the Women’s Forum and Executive Women.
Sylvia is a dedicated volunteer for Lone Star Chapter of The National MS Society, University Hospital and The Alamo.
Sylvia enjoys cycling, camping, photography, gardening, guitar, reading, traveling and spending time with her husband Marty, three children, their spouses, 9 grandchildren and family and friends in San Antonio and in their Wimberley home.
