Dr. Vangie Aguilera, Ed.D.

Education

Dr. Vangie Aguilera is a lifelong resident of San Antonio and a career educator.

She is the chair of the scholarship committee and served on the board as secretary and 2nd vice president before her term as president. 

An educational leader with experience at all levels of education (Pk-20) largely in urban schools, Dr. Aguilera is the Coordinator for the Center for Educational Leadership at Trinity University and an adjunct faculty member for the Trinity Tomorrow’s Leaders, a M.Ed. program in Educational Leadership. 

She previously served as director and graduate advisor for leadership preparation programs at the University of Texas at San Antonio where she was recognized as Outstanding Advisor of Record for the College of Education and Human Development.

Her research focus is on principal preparation and equity centered leadership which she has presented at national and international conferences.

Her advocacy centers on youth development, particularly from underserved populations.
