
Barbara Taylor, M.D.

Barbara Taylor is a Professor of Infectious Diseases and the Assistant Dean of the Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health (MD/MPH) Program at UT Health San Antonio.
Dr. Taylor conducts research to prevent and treat viral illnesses such as HIV and COVID.
She is a leader of the National Institute of Health-funded RECOVER study, which is a nationwide research program designed to understand, treat, and prevent long COVID.
She is proud to have led the first Phase I HIV vaccine trial in San Antonio.
As assistant Dean for the MD/MPH Program, she oversees an innovative, integrated program to provide medical students with public health skills to improve the health of the communities they serve.
She also provides care for people with HIV and other infectious diseases at University Health.
